First Branded Experience Launches Under New Facebook Pages Design
When Facebook announced their updated Pages product last week, it was a big deal as the Pages presents the opportunity for creating a more integrated branded experience. Last night I had the opportunity to speak with Gunter Pfau of the Stuzo Group to discuss some of the projects that they’ve been working on. He told me about the new AMP Energy Canada page that they launched and I have to say, it’s pretty impressive. It’s not just a simple landing page. Instead, there is an integrated application which includes videos and commenting within the Facebook Page. If you want an example of what the new Facebook Pages product has to offer, this is a great first example for any brand to check out. Below is the interview that I conducted with Gunter Pfau...

The changes are pretty exciting (despite the all-too-predictable uproar that comes with Facebook's updates, I am often a fan of the changes they make). In a nutshell, Business Pages will now look and function a lot more like personal profiles. Oh boy, that's just what we needed, more confusion about the difference between Profiles and Pages. Facebook's Fan Page Facelift Diminishes Brands
Facebook, you make me cry. Today the social network introduced it’s new homepage layout and a new look and feel for its fan pages, aka the pages that many brands and their customers are using to interact with each other. If brands wanted to, they could have interactive dialogue via the wall without compromising the flow of news that other members of the fan page wanted to see. Applications, if the brands chose to use them or even pay to develop them, were visible. It was attractive. Did I mention clean? Now that’s all gone...

Following last fall’s overall redesign, these pages will now migrate to the same Wall and tabs design that personal profiles have used. You can explore the new format and follow Mashable on Facebook at Mashable’s Facebook page. Following is a rundown of what you need to know...

Today, Facebook announced that, as expected, Pages and Profiles are blending in what Facebook is calling “Profiles for Everyone.” Launch partners, which will go live today, include CNN, U2, Barack Obama, Michael Phelps, Ashton Kutchen, Lance Armstrong, The New York Times, and the NBA. All Page owners will be invited to “migrate” their Pages over to the new design in the next few weeks. For more details on all the specific changes for Page owners, see Inside Facebook’s previous coverage. Essentially...
