360i Q&A With OneRiot’s Tobias Peggs

DIGITAL CONNECTIONS — People have long been turning to the web to find information -- and as social and mobile continue to gain momentum, this trend will only increase. More and more of today’s searchers want late-breaking information that answers their queries with the greatest relevancy. In other words, they want the engines to tell them what’s going on right now for a given topic. Search engines have responded to this demand by incorporating real-time search results into their offerings. One engine leading the way is OneRiot, a real-time search engine that provides results influenced by what people are sharing on Twitter, Myspace, Digg, Facebook and more. We interviewed Tobias Peggs, President of OneRiot, to learn more about the engine and the future of real-time search...

Sobees Launches Realtime Social Media Discovery Platform

TECHCRUNCH — There’s no shortage of real-time search engines that are tracking the web and social media sites like YouTube, Twitter and Facebook for results. Collecta, OneRiot, Microsoft’s Bing and Google all offer compelling search engines to tap into the real-time stream. Today, social media client Sobees is jumping into the stream with its real-time search discovery platform. The platform, which is powered by Microsoft Silverlight and runs on top of Windows Azure, has the look and feel of Sobees’ Twitter client...

OneRiot Among First To Add MySpace Real Time Search Data

THE SOCIAL TIMES — OneRiot, the real time web search engine, has added MySpace user content to its aggregated search results. The MySpace content comes from users updating their public profiles, along with other publicly shared information such as shared links and media. The news comes with MySpace’s announcement of its new Real-Time Stream API, which made its debut this morning at LeWeb Conference in Paris, France...

Shareholic Launches Buzz Monitor With OneRiot, Twitter Realtime Search

As I expected, yet another company has teamed up with OneRiot for added realtime search capabilities. Shareaholic, a browser-based content sharing tool, has released a new update called the Shareaholic Buzz Monitor, marking its entry into the realtime realm. The idea behind the new Buzz Monitor is to offer easier and more readily accessible trending news, from across the web. It’s just another way to offer the instant gratification consumers seemingly crave from web content these days. And this not only encompasses the web content itself, but the ethos surrounding it. What are people saying, and where are they saying it? This all comes together to form a new and momentary glance at what is going on at any given moment...

OneRiot: Web-Wide, Real-Time Social Search

OneRiot, a social search engine, announced today that its search results pages now update in real time with content from Twitter, Digg and the wider social web. Results are prioritized based on an algorithm of about 26 factors, filtered for spam, and de-duplicated if links are shared through multiple URL-shortening services. There are two search modes: Users can browse real-time results or (in "pulse" mode) see links ranked by social relevance. We spoke with a caffeinated and exuberant Tobias Peggs, general manager at OneRiot, about 20 minutes before the new release went live at 9 a.m. "We're trying to get a sense of current social relevance; what are people talking about right now," he said. And more than any competing product currently available, OneRiot succeeds...
